Meet the Team

Dr. James Herbst is known for his gentle and creative touch. He enjoys helping each of his patients improve their health, appearance and self-esteem by creating the smile of their dreams and maintaining the health and function of their teeth, gums and bite.

Dr. Herbst earned his DDS from University of Texas Health Science Center at San Antonio in 1989. He is from Pennsylvania, where he studied and received his Bachelor of Science degree from Grove City College. Dr. Herbst is a member of the Greater Houston Dental Society, the Texas Dental Association and the American Dental Association®.

Our state-of-the-art facility is equipped with the most advanced technology available. We offer digital X-rays, intraoral cameras, VELscope® technology for early detection of oral cancer lesions, and an in-office, one-hour teeth whitening system. We also provide digital music and cable TV during treatment.

A part of our office since 2018, Tenika has more than 16 years of experience working in the medical field and is a licensed cardiac sonographer. Her passion for helping others took her in a different direction after she had children. Her previous experience helps her bring a unique perspective to relating to our patients’ needs and running a successful business. She loves working for two amazing doctors who are truly genuine and caring people professionally and personally.

Tenika has an incredible husband and adorable children who mean the world to her.

LaTavia is a 2018 graduate of Mirabeau B. Lamar High School and earned her undergraduate degree from Lone Star College – Houston North Victory in 2020. She joined our office the following year. Her previous work experience has helped her become an innovator in many areas, including enhancing teamwork and communication between team members. She is very goal oriented and a good communicator who has no problem asking for help to ensure that she is doing the best job she can at the task at hand.

LaTavia is grateful for the opportunity to be a part of our practice. She appreciates the way that everyone is team oriented and committed to comprehensive patient care that produces long-term results. She notes that when everyone in our office displays teamwork, synergy and flow, patient confidence and trust are enhanced.

Annette has been a hygienist for our practice since her graduation from the University of Texas Dental Branch in 1985. She has watched the children of many of our families go from kindergarten through college. She will customize a treatment to meet the needs of a 3-year-old as well as a 93-year-old. She will educate you in proper dental hygiene as well as providing a thorough and gentle cleaning.

Beatriz has over 10 years of experience and counting. Beatriz’s most rewarding part about being a dental assistant is helping boost patient confidence and witnessing the beautiful smiles of her patients after their visits. She is eager to meet all her patients personally and has the opportunity to establish long-lasting relationships. She is married with three children whom she adores spending time with, and she has a passion for Bahama Buck’s plain shaved ice.
